Case Management for Elder Victims of Abuse
Elder abuse is a complicated subject. One in ten seniors over the age of 60 have experienced some form of elder abuse. Seniors who have been neglected or abused are often unable to get the help they need for a variety of reasons. The abusers may be family members or other trusted loved ones, and the victim may be reluctant to report them. Many seniors have difficulty admitting they have been victimized.
Through our partnership with the Legal Aid Foundation of Santa Barbara County, we provide coordinated legal and social services to Santa Barbara County residents age 60 and older who are victims of physical, emotional, and financial abuse. The Case Management for Elder Victims of Abuse program addresses each senior’s individual situation by guiding them toward the services needed to help them recover from the abuse and achieve greater safety in their lives.
This program is free and offered in English and Spanish.
