Juvenile Probation

The Juvenile Probation: Individual and Family Counseling (JJCPA) program provides individual and/or family counseling services for youthful offenders and at-risk youth by providing early interventions for less sophisticated, first-time offenders. The program targets attitudes, behaviors and related issues that give rise to delinquent and criminal behavior and addresses risky behaviors, trauma, and gang association or involvement.

The program seeks to improve family functioning and communication, identify resiliency factors that may mitigate further delinquency, and social, behavioral, and academic functioning, and involve the parent or parents of a referred youth when possible. THIS PROGRAM IS ONLY AVAILABLE BY REFERRAL FROM SANTA BARBARA COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF JUVENILE PROBATION (Lompoc: 805-737-7800; Santa Maria: 805-739-8500).

The Juvenile Probation: Girls Group Counseling program is intended to mitigate the likelihood of out-of-home removal for female wards of the Juvenile Court, as well as reduce the prevalence of high-risk behavior among other females supervised by the COUNTY. The group content is strength-based, gender-based and specific to the unique needs of females, females involved in the juvenile justice system, and at-risk females and is psycho-social in nature. Subjects covered by groups include: peer pressure; substance abuse; gang involvement; physical and sexual health; school and education; goal-setting; relationships; childhood trauma; family and domestic violence; self-esteem. THIS PROGRAM IS ONLY AVAILABLE BY REFERRAL FROM SANTA BARBARA COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF JUVENILE PROBATION (Santa Barbara: 805-692-4840; Lompoc: 805-737-7800; Santa Maria: 805-739-8500).
