Substance Abuse Treatment Staff
Your Substance Abuse Treatment program staff includes an addiction-credentialed
physician a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), clinical social worker, and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors (CADC). We tailor treatment services to meet each individual’s needs, based on their level of clinical severity and function. We collaborate with the client (and family members, if appropriate) to develop a plan and deliver services that stabilize the client’s condition and promote his or her wellness and recovery.
Chuck moved to Lompoc in 2008 from Los Angeles with the desire to help those suffering from addiction after his own experience with continued incarceration and substance abuse. He has worked in the treatment field for over 10 years in many capacities including counseling and program development.
Chuck also serves on the Board of Directors of Lompoc Chamber of Commerce, the Lompoc Boys and Girls Club, and the Board of Directors 5th District Representative for CCAPP-California Consortium of Addiction Professionals and Programs. He joined the team FSA/SMVYFC in 2018 with the goal of providing the most comprehensive and impactful program for youth and young adults struggling with substance abuse.
Dr. Carrick Adam
Pediatric Addition Physician
Dr. Adam is a Board Certified physician specializing in Pediatrics and Addiction Medicine. She is a native of the Santa Maria Valley and completed her medical training at the University of California, San Diego. For the past 15 years she has been working with adolescents with substance use disorders as the Medical Director for the Santa Barbara County Juvenile Justice Facilities. She also is the medical director for the Santa Barbara Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) and a consultant for the Resiliency in Sexual Exploitation program.
As a passionate and dedicated advocate for the prevention and effective treatment of drug addiction in youth, Dr. Adam is the secretary and past President of Fighting Back- Santa Maria Valley.
LMFT Case Manager and Therapist
For the past 20 years, Manuel has invested his time, energy, and passion serving youth of various cultural backgrounds in southern California. His work experience ranges from an R.M. Pyles Boys Camp Counselor, Program Director, Adjunct Instructor and Counselor, Dual-Immersion Teacher, and most recently Case Manager and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for FSA/Santa Maria Youth and Family Center.
For over 22 years, Maria has invested her time, energy, and passion serving youth of various cultural backgrounds in Santa Barbara County. Her previous work experience includes Case Manager, Mentor, and Qualified Mental Health Case Worker at Community Action Commission of Santa Barbara County. Alcohol & Other Drug Treatment Counselor, and Qualified Mental Health Case Worker at FSA/Santa Maria Youth and Family Center.
Olga is in the process of receiving an Associates Degree in Human Services with an emphasis in Addiction Studies. She is registered through California Association of DUI Treatment Programs and is working toward becoming a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
